Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is an amazing Hollywood actress and author Her talents have won the attention of critics and acclaim. Sagittarius Born in North Carolina on 3 December 1960. She's one of the three youngest children of Peter Moore Smith and Anne Smith. Peter was a paratrooper. The Moore family is English, Scottish and of mixed heritage. Moore was often in and out of her family due to the job that her dad was employed in. This made it difficult to maintain or make new friends. Moore's family relocated into Germany and she attended Frankfurt American High School, in which her first roles were on stage in productions. She furthered her education at Boston University, graduating in 1983 with the degree of a B.F.A. Thesis in Theater. Moore moved in New York after graduating and began her career in off-Broadway stage. In 1985 she appeared on screen for the first time in The Edge of Night. She played the dual roles of Frannie and Sabrina Hughes in As the World Turns which became her breakthrough. She starred on the show as the World Turns from 1986 until 1988. In recognition of her performance she was awarded an Daytime Emmy Award. Her film debut came in the year 1990, with Tales from the Darkside: The Movie, which she described later as a horrible low-budget movie. Short Cuts (1997) and 3 Women (1993), each Robert Altman productions, were her debut films. Her role in critically acclaimed short-cuts (1993) was rewarded with several nominations. Moore was her first major part as a lead actress in Safe(1995). Steven Spielberg chose Moore to be the main character in Jurassic Park: The Lost World. It was among the most popular movies released in the year. She received a SAG Awards nomination in Magnolia during 1999. She co-starred with Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep as well as others for The Hours, which was repeatedly nominated for Academy Awards.
